Thanksgiving is a period of time to reflect and celebrate on the things for which we are thankful. It’s also my favorite holiday of the year. It’s a period of time dedicated to opening up the heart and mind to positivity. We shut the doors, temporarily, on everything that is void of thankfulness. And then, we sit down with friends and family and eat and drink together.
Today, I challenge you to consider what you are most thankful for in your life. Then, take a moment to appreciate the things you are thankful for in lesser degrees. Keep going until you hit that emotional spot of, “Yeah, that’s a good one too, I suppose.” From gigantic importance to the most miniscule of mentions, enjoy the things you’re thankful for today.

And now, a few quotes on thanks…
“In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.” -Albert Schweitzer
“It is just that we should be grateful, not only to those with whose views we may agree, but also to those who have expressed more superficial views; for these also contributed something, by developing before us the powers of thought.” -Aristotle
“I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual.” -Henry David Thoreau
On a personal note: I’m thankful for family, friends, dogs, good food and good drinks. I am thankful for the health I still have. I’m thankful for old relationships, and new. I’m thankful for travel, music, film, and entertainment. I’m thankful for belief, and faith, in good times and bad. I’m thankful for the people who remind you that some people just need to be loved differently. I’m thankful for the people who remind you that some people have been loved too much, perhaps. I’m thankful for humor and laughter. I’m thankful for women. They just make everything about life more exciting. I’m thankful for good, better and the best types of sex. I’m thankful for good books, and the time to reflect on the words and messages within each page. I’m thankful for time to exercise and all the people you get to interact with at the gym. I’m thankful for new opportunities. And, I’m thankful for money. I’m a big fan of money.
There’s plenty more people, moments and things to be thankful for but that’s enough for now. If you have something you’re thankful for this Thanksgiving comment below. We can all then be thankful you shared.
Cheers,
JB.
